Description

Therapeutic Art, taught by an Art Therapist, can help us heal the split between our body and mind, our inner experiences and outer experiences. It’s an image-based process which is perfect for times when it is hard to put thoughts and feelings into words. Making art with others on a similar journey can provide the much-needed relief and reminder that you are not alone. One of the best things about art therapy is that you don’t have to be an artist to do it. It’s a tool, a vehicle for expression

Dream Catchers (Mixed-media).

Learn about Native American beliefs/rituals through the legends of dream catchers. Discuss & identify personal beliefs/rituals, family of origin beliefs/rituals that have been useful for recovery and resilience. Learn to create your own dream catcher. Participants may discuss the symbolism of the colors, beads, feathers and materials you choose to adorn your own dream catchers. You will have the opportunity to process recent dreams or past dreams that were challenging, had meaning, or hopes & dreams for the future.
