Description

This is a Hybrid Class that gives you the option to attend in-person OR attend the same class virtually on Zoom. To register, click the above green button, "Click here to register online". You will be prompted to chose if you would like to attend "In Person" or "Zoom - Virtual" during the registration process. Attending in person comes with a significant advantage—the chance to actively engage in preparing the meal.

About the Class:

Join Oncology Nutrition Consultant Sara Stratton, NTP, ONC to learn about how specific foods help protect against oxidative damage and improve your immune system, and how to incorporate them into your every day diet. Additionally, in this engaging class, you'll have the opportunity to create your own vibrant Buddha Bowl, combining practical experience with newfound knowledge. A Buddha Bowl is a nutrient-dense and well-balanced meal, featuring an array of colorful vegetables, healthy fats, satiating protein and fun toppings creatively arranged in a bowl. (Please be aware that if you are joining online from home, a recommended list of ingredients will be sent to you ahead of time via email.)

Our classes and programs are funded by grants, sponsors, donors and clients who are paying it forward. Cancer can be expensive; we do not want finances to be a barrier to accessing our valuable programming. Pay-as-you-can with a suggested donation amount per class of $10-$25. This class is incorporated into Wellness Within's comprehensive suite of programs known as the 'Empower Wellness Initiative,' specifically designed to address the psycho-social needs within the cancer community.
